Judy has been a member of Tralee Art Group since the late 1980s. During that time she has explored many types of media and techniques…pencil, charcoal, pastel, clay, watercolour, acrylics, printmaking, mixed media and installations. Her favourite technique is painting on silk and is a self-taught artist in this area. Inspiration comes from the intrinsic possibilities of the materials and from the local natural environment, especially the sea and seashore. The exploration of colour is a dominant theme in her abstract artwork. Judy believes it is the visual element that defines our world and our moods. It influences and inspires, calm and soothes, uplifts and enriches.
