“Our World, Our Oyster”  celebrates  Oyster Fishing in Tralee Bay, Fenit.Fishermen and  women from Fenit and surrounding areas take part in this seasonal oyster fishery, generally  from October to December. It is closely regulated to ensure future sustainability. Becoming more aware of the Flat Bed Oyster (also known as the Native Irish Oyster) and this local community industry, helped us learn more about a traditional, sustainable and important industry on our doorstep and was an inspiration to TAG members. Guided by well known, local artist, Rebekah Wall, members  developed a body of work including installations, paintings, video, textiles etc. Children from the local St Brendan’s National School worked with some TAG members and, in response, created their own collaborative piece which was also on display.
